Genesis Upper Receiver

Genesis Uppers have been tested with a variety of parts and configurations. Care must be taken to purchase compatible parts for your build. This is high rail height style upper. Each upper is machined out of billet aerospace grade 7075 T6 aluminum. Then anodized to mil-spec.
Please note that the Genesis Upper Receiver comes in two types:

1. Standard .277 take down and pivot pin sizes for Genesis Gen-2 lowers.
2. Oversized Pin for compatibility with LMT / KAC / LaRue lowers.

[toggle title=’What parts are compatible with this upper?’ tags=”]
Genesis uppers are compatible with both DPMS and Armalite pattern barrels. It is important to purchase a matched Bolt carrier group that is compatible with your barrel type. Please refer to your barrel MFG for compatible BGC’s for your barrel type.
[toggle title=’Important Barrel fitment information.’ tags=”]
Genesis Gen-2 uppers are manufactured to exacting specs with precision rifle builds in mind. You will notice that some barrels extensions will not freely slide in the extension bore. This was done on purpose to allow for best fit between the barrel and extension. This will create a more precise fit and increase accuracy of your rifle. Do not attempt to force the barrel in to the receiver. Great care should be taken not to damage the face of the extension seat. This part of the receiver was machined to create a great degree of perpendicularly in the area of the extension shoulder.

If you encounter a barrel with a tight fit it is very easy to install with out damaging your upper or barrel. All that needs to be done is to apply heat with a propane-plumbing torch to the outside of the barrel extension and slide the barrel in the extension bore. Only a couple of seconds of even heating should be required to allow free movement for the installation of the barrel in the upper receiver. Upper receivers can also be heated in an oven if a torch is not available. A temp increase of 50-75 degrees is all that is needed in most cases.
[toggle title=’Which barrels will work?’ tags=”]

  • Armalite AR-10 barrel
  • SR-25 type barrel

The Genesis Upper shares a common rail height with the SR-25, DPMS High and the Armalite AR-10 and is compatible with any hand guard with a barrel nut designed to fit the Knight’s Armament SR-25 or DPMS will fit the Genesis Upper.

Here is a short list of manufactures that produce rails in the high rail configuration:

“High Profile” upper receivers have a 3/16″ wide top portion where the charging handle is installed.

Perhaps I missed it in the reading somewhere. Is there a certain ejection door you advise for your 308 upper? I've read some are not compatible with others. Thanks.

A standard size, like the port door in this link will work fine:

We have heard there is a slight gap in the angle at the buffer tube with Matrix and Armalite and with Matrix and KAC. If true, there would be a slight gap in the same area with our parts.

Am I able to attach an SR25 KAC barrel to the upper? I am a little confused on how well the upper would fit a KAC barrel and extension, like an M110 barrel.

Barrel Extensions are Precision Ground and we hold a very tight tolerance in the threaded bore area, there are a variety of barrels available for this build.

Are you still making .308 uppers and 80% lowers? This site looks like nobody has been home since September, 2016
