Gun violence is horrific, far too many innocent people are killed by guns and something must be done to stop this from happening.

That’s the truth that most of you see on a daily basis, and I will agree that the first two points are correct as no one is in favor of gun violence or innocent people being killed. But is it really as bad as the media is telling you? Has this really become such a crisis that lawmakers will sit down on the house floor in order to push more gun control?

The U.S. Homicide Rate Hits 51-year Low as Gun Ownership Increased 141%

Wait, what? Yes, the truth is the homicide rate in the United States of 4.5 per 100,000 people is the lowest since 1963 when the rate was 4.6 per 100,000 people. The 4.5 rate is for 2014, the most current complete data available from the FBI database.

The last time the homicide rate in the U.S. was actually lower was way back in 1957 when the total homicide rate was 4.0 per 100,000, Howdy Doody began his 13 year run on TV for children and a brand new 2-door convertible V-8 1957 Chevy Bel Air cost only $2,611 out the door.

You wouldn’t know this based on the way the Democrats are acting, gun control is the most critical issue in the nation right now they say and are willing to make fools of themselves sitting on the floor of the house demanding more gun control is passed after four separate bills failed to pass in the last few days.

Democrats refuse to accept that the majority of Americans simply do not want the modern sport rifles they call “assault weapons” banned from sale or are willing to stop the Constitutional rights of citizens based on an arbitrary list that excludes any due process to get on.

So while the number of new guns in the US that were either manufactured here or imported increased 141 percent from 6.6 million new guns in 1994 to 16 million in 2013, homicides have dropped steadily. That means a gross total of 132 million new guns were added into the US population over that time period and yet people have not run around killing each other in some post apocalypse nightmare like we are being told would happen.

Does a Red Flag Fit Their Narrative Better?

Of course homicides the lowest in 51 years doesn’t make you scream for gun control, so the rally cry had to be mass shootings. As with all mass shootings there are often cries that it is what is known as a “red flag”, meaning a fake or manufactured shooting in order to push the government’s agenda.
Almost every shooting in the last 10 or 20 years has been called a “red flag” by some, and often those people are what many would consider “off their rocker” to use one of grandma’s favorite mental health diagnoses.

Of course the shooter is almost always killed or kills themselves in these shootings, so you can never question them and there are usually some questionable things like paramedics not being allowed to go into the school or people videotaped being carried towards the scene of the shooting rather than away from it.

Now I don’t usually go in for these conspiracy theories as most can be easily explained away, but the shooting in Orlando, Florida was not only overly convenient for the gun control push, but is filled with so many inconsistencies that it screams something fishy is going on.

In the video below (which was shown once on TV and then edited) you can see people carrying a man with red shoes who looks to have been shot in the leg past the camera towards the scene of the shooting. The first question should be, how did he get a block away from the Pulse nightclub and why would they carry him back towards it?

The second issue is at the very end of the video as they can be seen putting the man down, smiling and joking around about hoping on one leg. This doesn’t seem like the actions of people saving someone’s life during a tragedy, nor would you put a guy with a bullet wound in his leg back down on the ground as that would be extremely painful and not something you would be smiling at.

The third issue in the video is the wound itself, contrary to what Michael Moore thinks, the .223 round does not explode or contain some automatic spiraling action designed to kill anyone it hits, it is in fact a small caliber (.22) rifle round traveling at high velocity so it makes a fairly small entrance wound.

The way the blood pooled on this guy’s pants just doesn’t look correct to me (it should be more down the leg and not so wide since that would be from gravity and then stopped by the tourniquet, but maybe since they were running around the block and back with him it would make more sense?

Now, I don’t suggest that 49 people didn’t die in this horrible shooting, not my intention at all, but seeing this makes me question if part of it wasn’t staged as well. Our government has never been shy about killing people, what makes you think they wouldn’t do so for pushing as dramatic a change as gun control or the removal of due process from something like a no-gun buy list?

Even the United Nations Data Supports Gun Ownership

The United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime lists the United States 108th for murder rate per 100,000 persons, you’d swear we are #1 in the world if you listen to the news. We are however 10th in the world for the number of persons murdered per year, of course we are also one of the largest nations on the planet with more people, so I’m not shocked at that.

Brazil leads the list of number of persons murdered each year topping 50,000 and little Honduras leads the murder rate at 84.6 per 100,000 despite only 5,936 persons killed. Guess they are running out of people to kill in Honduras?

Since we know that gun ownership has increased year by year over the past 20 years at least, these numbers fly in the face of the gun control argument that more guns equals more deaths. Could the “gun nuts” be right and more guns actually make us safer?

Don’t tell the Democrats the truth though, they won’t know how to handle it. But if you feel strongly about it, you might find them lounging around on the floor of the house, which is pretty much normal for anyone in congress anyways.

The FBI and U.S. State Department released transcripts of the four calls with the emergency operator and crisis negotiators on Monday, but the transcripts omitted the shooter’s references to the leader of Islamic State and any mention of ISIS.
While many feel this was yet another example of our government siding with ISIS supporters over the safety of American citizens, the given reasoning was that they did not want to provide a platform for propaganda.

The joint statement from the Justice Department and FBI:

“The purpose of releasing the partial transcript of the shooter’s interaction with 911 operators was to provide transparency, while remaining sensitive to the interests of the surviving victims, their families, and the integrity of the ongoing investigation. We also did not want to provide the killer or terrorist organizations with a publicity platform for hateful propaganda. Unfortunately, the unreleased portions of the transcript that named the terrorist organizations and leaders have caused an unnecessary distraction from the hard work that the FBI and our law enforcement partners have been doing to investigate this heinous crime. As much of this information had been previously reported, we have re-issued the complete transcript to include these references in order to provide the highest level of transparency possible under the circumstances.”

This sounds more like: We would have liked to hide all references to ISIS and Islam, but unfortunately you already found out that the shooter was Muslim and pledged himself to ISIS, so to shut people up, we released the whole thing.

Outrage Over the Redacted Transcripts

Florida Governor Rick Scott, House Speaker Paul Ryan and other political leaders criticized the FBI and State Department for the move.

Speaker Ryan called for the full text to be released and accused the Obama administration of censoring references to Islamic State. He said the decision to edit the transcript for the public was “preposterous” since everyone already knew Mateen was a radical Islamic extremist inspired by Islamic State.

“We also know he intentionally targeted the LGBT community,” Speaker Ryan said. “The administration should release the full, un-redacted transcript so the public is clear-eyed about who did this and why.”
The FBI and Justice Department said that the omissions had caused an “unnecessary distraction” and that was why they decided to release the un-redacted transcripts of the calls.

What Was Eventually Released

Eventually they released a timeline of events as well as the transcript of the first 911 call. Summaries of the calls with the negotiator were released, but not a word for word description.
Orlando Police Department (OPD) radio communication (times are approximate):

2:02 a.m.: OPD call transmitted multiple shots fired at Pulse nightclub.
2:04 a.m.: Additional OPD officers arrived on scene.
2:08 a.m.: Officers from various law enforcement agencies made entrance to Pulse and engaged the shooter.
2:18 a.m.: OPD SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) initiated a full call-out.
2:35 a.m.: Shooter contacted a 911 operator from inside Pulse. The call lasted approximately 50 seconds, the details of which are set out below:
Orlando Police Dispatcher (OD)
Omar Mateen (OM)

OD: Emergency 911, this is being recorded.
OM: In the name of God the Merciful, the beneficent [Arabic]
OD: What?
OM: Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God [Arabic]. I wanna let you know, I’m in Orlando and I did the shootings.
OD: What’s your name?
OM: My name is I pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State.
OD: Ok, What’s your name?
OM: I pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi may God protect him [Arabic], on behalf of the Islamic State.
OD: Alright, where are you at?
OM: In Orlando.
OD: Where in Orlando?
[End of call.]

(Shortly thereafter, the shooter engaged in three conversations with OPD’s Crisis Negotiation Team.)
2:48 a.m.: First crisis negotiation call occurred lasting approximately nine minutes.
3:03 a.m.: Second crisis negotiation call occurred lasting approximately 16 minutes.
3:24 a.m.: Third crisis negotiation call occurred lasting approximately three minutes.

In these calls, the shooter, who identified himself as an Islamic soldier, told the crisis negotiator that he was the person who pledged his allegiance to [omitted], and told the negotiator to tell America to stop bombing Syria and Iraq and that is why he was “out here right now.” When the crisis negotiator asked the shooter what he had done, the shooter stated, “No, you already know what I did.” The shooter continued, stating, “There is some vehicle outside that has some bombs, just to let you know. You people are gonna get it, and I’m gonna ignite it if they try to do anything stupid.” Later in the call with the crisis negotiator, the shooter stated that he had a vest, and further described it as the kind they “used in France.” The shooter later stated, “In the next few days, you’re going to see more of this type of action going on.” The shooter hung up and multiple attempts to get in touch with him were unsuccessful.

4:21 a.m.: OPD pulled an air conditioning unit out of a Pulse dressing room window for victims to evacuate.
(While the FBI will not be releasing transcripts of OPD communication with victims, significant information obtained from those victims allowed OPD to gain knowledge of the situation inside Pulse.)
4:29 a.m.: As victims were being rescued, they told OPD the shooter said he was going to put four vests with bombs on victims within 15 minutes.

(An immediate search of the shooter’s vehicle on scene and inside Pulse ultimately revealed no vest or improvised explosive device.)

5:02 a.m.: OPD SWAT and OCSO Hazardous Device Team began to breach wall with explosive charge and armored vehicle to make entry.
5:14 a.m.: OPD radio communication stated that shots were fired.
5:15 a.m.: OPD radio communication stated that OPD engaged the suspect and the suspect was reported down.

Based on OPD radio communications, there were no reports of shots being fired inside Pulse between the initial exchange of gunfire between responding officers and shooter, and the time of the final breach. During this time, the shooter communicated with an OPD 911 operator and an OPD crisis negotiator, and OPD radio communications reported that victims were being rescued.

Questions Surround Every Action

The more “transparent” the FBI appears to be; the more questions actually arise. Why are we not seeing transcripts for the three calls with the police negotiator? What could be in these calls that they don’t want us to hear?
Why will the FBI will not be releasing transcripts of OPD communication with victims that are still alive and therefore could give permission to do so? Surely not everyone they were able to communicate with is deceased?
Still no explanation for why we have video of people carrying wounded towards the nightclub rather than away from it. In one of the videos it even appears that the people stop carrying a victim and start joking around, not something people would be doing after such a horrific event.

They tell us this investigation could take years, but yet the knee-jerk reaction so far has been to call for bans on firearms and allow more Muslims into the country without ensuring that they have no buried hatred of anyone in this country.
Makes you wonder who is really looking after us, doesn’t it?

The PC whitewashing of almost everything in America is annoying and makes for some great jokes, but now we have two examples where political correctness has actually killed innocent people.

San Bernardino, California

Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik are the Muslim couple behind the deadly massacre which claimed 14 lives at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino in December of 2015. The pair had planned the killing for some time and may have been caught before the attack, if not for political correctness.

A neighbor did not report Farook and Malik to authorities after witnessing suspicious activity at their apartment over fears she would be labeled racist.

A worker in the area said that he noticed a half-dozen Middle Eastern men in the area in recent weeks, but decided not to report anything because he did not wish to racially profile those people.

Several neighbors also became suspicious when a group of three to four Middle Easterners moved into a nearby apartment and began getting a lots of package deliveries. Yet they said nothing for fear of being called a racist.

Orlando, Florida

In the largest mass shooting in America that didn’t involve our government killing Native Americans, Omar Mateen had been the focus of terrorism investigations on several occasions, but they were dropped because of political correctness.

FBI Director Comey confirmed that there had been a full FBI investigation of Omar Mateen in 2013. The investigation was 10 months in length, and it was opened after he told his coworkers that he had family connections to Al Qaeda, that he was a member of a Shi’a terrorism organization and that he hoped law enforcement would raid his home and assault his wife so that he could then retaliate and martyr himself.

The investigation involved the use of confidential informants, surveillance of Mateen and his actions, and two interviews with the FBI. During this time, he was placed on the terror watch list, and if he had attempted to buy a firearm during that period the FBI would have been flagged to that purchase according to Fox News’ Catherine Herridge who had a closed door meeting with Director Comey.
Mateen claimed he made the statements because he felt that his coworkers had been trying to marginalize him because of his Muslim faith. Once again, calling those who would or did report your actions, a racist, ended the investigation and allowed a radical Islamic killer to continue on a path that would cost the lives of 49 people and scar at least 53 for life.

A former High School classmate said that Mateen actually cheered as terrorists flew jumbo jets into the Twin Towers on 9/11. “But Omar was saying some really rude stuff. Stuff like, ‘That’s what America deserves.’ That kind of thing. It wasn’t right,” the former classmate said.

Mateen also drew the attention of the FBI in 2014 because of ties to U.S. suicide bomber Moner Abusalha, the son of a Palestinian father and American mother, who died on May 24, 2014, at the age of 22. Abusalha drove a truck packed with explosives into a government outpost in Syria, detonating the charge.

They attended the same Mosque, but the investigation determined that they only knew each other casually and were not close friends. Mateen did mention Moner Abusalha as well as the Boston marathon bombers to police on the phone when he pledged allegiance to the terror group ISIS.

His Wife Knew and Didn’t Alert Anyone

Omar Mateen’s wife, Noor, told the FBI that she was with him when he bought ammunition and a holster for his sidearm. She also told the FBI that she once drove him to the gay nightclub, Pulse, because he wanted to scope it out.

She stated that she tried to talk him out of carrying out the attack on the nightclub, but did not warn authorities of his intentions. By keeping this to herself, she allowed the death and anguish to occur just as if she went along with him.

Karla Ray with WFTV is reporting via Twitter that Walt Disney World had contacted the FBI back in April to warn them that Mateen and his wife might have been casing the place. Why the FBI did not follow up on this is still unknown.

A federal grand jury has been convened to determine if Noor will be charged with any crimes.

Hillary Clinton’s State Department Involved

Now retired Department of Homeland Security agent Philip Haney had been running a special investigation into a movement known as Tablighi Jamaat. During the investigation, Haney uncovered numerous connections between several mosques and individuals in the U.S. with known terrorists and organizations, including Al Qaida and Hamas, amongst others.

Unfortunately, just as Haney’s investigation was making solid connections, it was shut down in a joint effort by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s State Department and the Civil Rights division of DHS, due to concerns that the investigation was unfairly targeting Muslims. This is Political Correctness at its worst.

Hampering further investigations, much of the important information and links Haney had documented were summarily deleted in 2012. Why does everything that Hillary touches end up being deleted?

Unknown if this could have prevented Omar Mateen’s killing spree, but the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce, was part of the network Haney uncovered five years ago. Haney was able to reestablish the connections that he first discovered years ago in only a few hours using material available to anyone. That left him critical of the FBI’s efforts at previously investigating the Orlando terrorist.

“It means they didn’t go through the same basic, analytical process that I went through over a three- or four-hour period in which I was able to link the mosque to my previous cases,” he said.

Will Political Correctness Fix America’s Problems?

The Homeland Security Advisory Council submitted its Countering Violent Extremism report to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson about a week before the shooting in Orlando. The report instructs the Department of Homeland Security not to use any language that might be considered disrespectful to Muslims, including the words “jihad,” “sharia” and “takfir.”

This is how the Department of Homeland Security spends our tax money to protect us? How can we ever combat a group of people that want to rule the world at our expense by being politically correct?

Is our government trading our safety by trying to disarm or limit our access to firearms or certain types of firearms (the only ones that could be used against them) while at the same time allowing people into our country whose ideals are in direct conflict with ours?

“Islam respects the fundamental dignity of human beings” — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 2012

But yet in the Quran we find the following passages:

“And KILL them (the unbelievers) wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.” (Sura 2, verse 191).

“And whoever does not believe in Allah and His Apostle, then surely We have prepared burning fire for the unbelievers.” (Sura 48, verse 13).

A 2014 fatwa from (a mainstream Islamic site) proclaimed that homosexuality is “abnormal and abhorrent” and confirmed that gays should be killed: “The punishment for men or women who are unwilling to give up homosexuality and therefore are rejecting the guidance of Allah Most High is in fact death according to Islam.” An imam invited to speak at a Florida mosque in 2016 said that killing gays was an “act of compassion”.

These views can never coexist with the American way of life, Sharia Law and the Constitution of the United States are in direct conflict with each other regardless of what politicians are trying to tell us.

I know a few people that are Muslims and they are wonderful people, but I’m tired of being told it is a religion of peace when we are constantly shown the opposite. Sure it’s only 10% or so of them, but the 90% are complicit when they stand by and do nothing. There have been over 28,135 terrorist attacks in the name of Islam since 9/11/01, over two million people have died (including many Muslims) as these people attempt to wipe all other religions from the globe.

Be safe.

Bill Kendall

On June 1st, an immigrant and former PhD student at the University of California, Los Angeles shot Professor William Klug and then turned the gun on himself. As usual, gun control advocates came out of the woodwork demanding tougher laws after first blaming the NRA, Tea Party, Republicans in general and anyone else that doesn’t support their gun free liberal utopia where unicorns run free.

And The President Said…

The President was briefed on the shooting, but other than a tweet where he asked everyone to dress up like a convicted criminal by wearing orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 2nd, he didn’t make his usual big speech.

The reason for that is pretty obvious, there is no gun law ever proposed that would have stopped this shooting other than a complete ban, and the shooter was yet another immigrant to the United States, not an NRA member as they hoped.

President Obama has insisted that three major changes must be made in order for us all to be safe from gun violence:
Mandatory instant background checks on every sale or transfer of a firearm, including those sales and transfers that are conducted entirely privately, such as handing down a family heirloom to a child or sibling.

The 10 round limit on the capacity of all available magazines.

A total ban on the so-called “assault weapons,” even though the term is made up by the media and in reality they wish to ban all semi-automatic sporting rifles.

However, not a single one of these changes would have stopped this shooter. He passed an instant background check in Minnesota so his firearm purchase was 100% legal, since he had no criminal background there were no red flags to suggest anything illegal would occur.

He did not have to reload or fire a large number of rounds at the two separate murder scenes so a limit on magazine capacity would not have had any impact on these shootings. And, he used a common handgun, rather than a so-called “assault weapon”. In fact, these murders could have been committed with a black powder pistol which is not even considered a firearm and requires no background check.

Because of these factors, the president was limited in what he could actually say; you will hear about how this can’t become a normal thing for Americans to deal with, but not much more, because the only way to stop events like this are to remove Gun-Free Zones and allow Constitutional carry for Americans, or a complete ban on handguns.

Why Gun Control Can Never Work

The people that think gun control will actually stop shooting seem to forget that by their very nature, criminals do not follow laws. Murder is already illegal; no additional laws will make murder more illegal than it already is. You simply cannot legislate people into acting civilized.

The cities and states that have enacted the strictest gun control have the highest murder rates. Criminals like their victims unarmed, so it isn’t surprising that disarming law abiding citizens actually increases the crime rate. Gun control advocates think that if it doesn’t work locally, it will magically work if they can make these burdens on the Second Amendment national.

Disarming citizens emboldens criminals, no one wants to get killed on the job, not even those who “job” it is to rob and steal, so removing the victim’s ability to fight back is just what the criminals want.

It is no wonder that California held the highest murder rate (3.25 murders per 100,000 people) the very same year it was rated as the state with the strongest gun control laws by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. The murder rate in Chicago is so bad it needs to be compared to war torn countries rather than American cities.

Why the UCLA Shooting Story Will Vanish Quickly

It isn’t because the anti-gunners don’t have a solution to stop this from happening again, because they do. But the solution exposes their lies; you can’t continue to claim that you don’t want to take away guns when the only solution to stop this from happening is to take away guns.

The fact that this was another immigrant to this country of course doesn’t help. And someone at UCLA changed the shooters bio from being Muslim to Hindu, to unconfirmed if Muslim or Hindu. Nothing about this story’s facts make for good anti-gun media rhetoric, so it disappears faster than snow in 100-degree weather.

The shooter came to this country on a student visa but appears to have gained permanent status by marrying Ashley Hasti whom he met at UCLA. The couple were listed as estranged by sister Alex Hasti on her Facebook page after the shooting. Ashley was found murdered in Minneapolis after a note on the shooter said to check on his cat at home.

At his home they found Ashley’s name on his “kill list” along with Professor Klug’s and another unnamed professor who was apparently off campus during the shooting. We must ask why these immigrants who come to America for a better life and take advantage of visas, green cards and school grants are so quick to turn violent? Why is violence such a quick and easy step for these people to make?

Stopping These Shootings

It appears that the only way to stop this type of shooting is to either ban all liberals from purchasing firearms (this would actually stop around 98% of mass shootings, but would be deemed unconstitutional) or ban all firearms from everyone. And that there is why you won’t hear about this incident for very long.

While the end goal is obviously to ban all firearms, you cannot get the incremental laws passed while saying you don’t want to take anyone’s guns away, when you let on that you really want to take everyone’s guns away.

The president has made light of the fact that gun sales are higher than ever with him in the White House, and that he has not tried to pass any laws that confiscate guns from Americans. He says this is proof that they aren’t coming for your guns.

Of course this is the usual misdirection that anti-gun proponents use, they won’t try to actually confiscate firearms as that would lead to civil war, they will simply incrementally ban weapons until they are no longer available. This is the same plan California has used to make new semi-automatic pistols unavailable to anyone except legislators who exempted themselves from the gun laws they pass and police officers.

Once your existing weapons are banned, you will be required to register them. You will be allowed to keep them, so they aren’t coming for your guns just as they said they wouldn’t. But you can’t sell or transfer the weapon ever, and forget about handing it down to children, when you die, that weapon will die too. It will be recovered from your family before their tears are even dry from your passing.

Buffalo, NY is one location where the police are comparing obituaries with firearm permits and when they find a match, they start asking for the guns. If they haven’t been legally transferred, sold or removed from the state, they take them. And of course we had the door to door gun confiscations during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

The next time an anti-gun person tells you they don’t want to take away your gun rights, know that you are being lied to, because the only way they will feel safe is when you are disarmed.

Bill Kendall

Early Sunday morning, a Muslim man with radical Islamic ties, who was previously offended by the public display of affection of two men, decided the proper way to deal with that was to kill as many gay people as he could. In the Middle East, ISIS is known to throw gay men off the roofs of buildings or burn them alive, this terrorist appears to have been acting alone, so shooting them in a nightclub where there were likely to be no other weapons was his execution method.

On the FBI Radar

I don’t normally like to name mass-shooters, but since this is an act of terrorism, and this is being marketed as the worst mass shooting in American history with 49 dead and 53 injured, his name just might be more relevant to the story that just that of someone with a troubled mind. Omar Mir Seddique Mateen was apparently known to law enforcement and they said he had leanings towards radical Islamic terrorism.

At some point prior or during his attack, Omar Mateen called 911 and claimed allegiance to ISIS, he also mentioned the Boston Marathon bombers during his call. Marten was born in NYC, his parents immigrated to the US from Afghanistan.

He worked as a security guard for a company that supplies protection for the Federal Government for the past 9 years. His level of clearance to federal buildings is as yet unknown, but he was also on the terrorist watch list after making some sympathetic comments in favor of ISIS. The FBI says he was interviewed, “inconclusively,” by the agency twice.

Mateen was a registered Democrat who had no known criminal record and had recently purchased the Glock handgun and Sig Sauer MCX Carbine rifle he used in the attack legally as he was not a prohibited person.

Homosexuality and Islam

Islam goes well beyond just disapproving of homosexuality like the Christians. Sharia Law teaches that homosexuality is a vile form of fornication, punishable by death. Christians won’t bake wedding cakes for gay weddings, Muslims will kill them for their lifestyle, and although I’m not saying that either is right, obviously one is more extreme than the other.

Homosexuals are beheaded, hung and stoned in modern Saudi Arabia and Iran, where Muhammad’s laws are applied most strictly. Seven other Muslim countries, Afghanistan, Brunei, Mauritania, Nigeria, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen, also have the death penalty on their books for homosexual behavior.

Hillary Clinton tweeted: “Let’s be clear: Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.” The Clinton Foundation has of course received millions of dollars from some of the Islamic countries listed above.

President Obama Speaks Out

The President said this “was an act of terror, and an act of hate”, but of course left out any mention of radical Islamic terrorism, even though he is aware that the shooter pledged his allegiance to the head of ISIS.

Of course he threw in how easy it is to buy “assault weapons” and how that must be changed in order for us all to be safe.
The President did order the flag at the White House and at all federal locations to be flown at half-mast until June 16th to honor those killed.

Los Angeles Incident

While investigating a suspected prowler, Santa Monica Police encountered an individual who said he was waiting for a friend on Sunday. When the officers searched the man’s car, they found weapons, an ammunition cache as well as binary explosives that could be used to create a pipe bomb.

The man allegedly told authorities he was in town for Sunday’s pride parade in West Hollywood. The car had Indiana license plates, although the man’s hometown has not been disclosed at this time.

There was no immediate link between the Santa Monica incident and the Orlando massacre, The Times reported, citing law enforcement sources. The FBI is currently investigating this incident and any possible ties to the Orlando shooting.

Law enforcement has not released a name, nationality or any religious affiliation for the individual at this time.

Not the Worst Shooting in American History

Earlier I stated that this was being “marketed” as the worst mass shooting in American history with 50 dead and 53 injured, because although it will be used as such to force gun control on the American people, it is not even close to being the worst mass shooting.

The US Cavalry who were looking for Chief Augustine’s Hoolanapo clan of Pomos Indians in retaliation for the killing of two white settlers who had enslaved them; came upon the Pomos Indians on Bonopoti Island in California. They slaughtered almost the entire population of the island, between sixty and two hundred by most accounts. No prisoners were taken and many women and children were stabbed with bayonets.

The army then killed seventy-five more Indians along the Russian River. Easy to do when your victims are not allowed to own weapons to be able to fight back.

On the morning of December 29, 1890, troops of the 7th Cavalry went into the camp of the Lakota in South Dakota to disarm the Lakota. Stories say that during the process of disarming the Lakota, a deaf tribesman named Black Coyote was reluctant to give up his rifle, claiming he had paid a lot for it. A scuffle over the rifle escalated, and a shot was fired which resulted in the 7th Cavalry opening fire indiscriminately from all sides, killing men, women, and children, as well as some of their fellow soldiers.

The Lakota warriors who still had weapons began shooting back at the attacking soldiers, who quickly suppressed the Lakota fire. The surviving Lakota fled, but cavalrymen pursued and killed many who were unarmed.

By the time it was over, more than 150 men, women, and children of the Lakota had been killed and 51 were wounded; some estimates placed the number of dead at 300. Twenty-five soldiers also died, and 39 were wounded, 6 of the wounded would die later.

These two examples of mass shootings are not being mentioned by the press for a few reasons, one is that we have tried over the years to hide the genocide we inflicted on the American Indians and the other reason is that these killings were done while disarming these people or shortly after doing so, not the message they want to send when trying to take away our guns.

What Comes Next?
We can expect more “lone wolf” attacks like this in the US and around the world. The large organized attacks take longer to plan and are often easier to discover, so smaller attacks with no warning may become the new normal.

Expect gun control to get ramped up again, regardless of the fact that this was a terrorist act, a push to ban “assault weapons” and ban people on the “no fly” list from buying weapons were already brought up numerous times during the breaking of this story. The AR-15 is being blasted as an evil weapon of mass destruction by the media even though the weapon used was a Sig Sauer MCX Carbine.

“Assault weapons” is a misleading term as these are not military rifles and are not fully automatic unless made so illegally, they are in fact modern sporting rifles that are used for hunting, target and competitive shooting competitions.

Banning people on the “no fly” list sounds like a great idea at face value, then as you look deeper you realize that anyone can end up on the “no fly” list for a multitude of reasons and people ending up on that list accidentally is not uncommon. Currently there is no way to appeal being placed on that list, so banning someone’s Second Amendment rights without any due process would of course be unconstitutional.

More to come as information is released.

This is how most people think of Memorial Day; many have no idea what the significance of the holiday and/or confuse it with Armed Forces Day or Veterans Day. As I sit here writing this the day after, I wonder how many Americans that have not served in the military even understand or care about the sacrifices that were made so that they can BBQ, go to the lake, river or ocean and enjoy that extra day off?

More Than Just a Day Off

Memorial Day is to remember our fallen soldiers, men and women who gave their lives in the service to this country. Traditionally, the flag of the United States is raised briskly to the top of the staff and then solemnly lowered to the half-staff position, where it remains only until noon. It is then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.
The half-staff position remembers the men and women who gave their lives in service of their country. At noon, their memory is raised by the living, who resolve not to let their sacrifice be in vain, but to rise up in their stead and continue the fight for liberty and justice for all.

Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans, the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), established Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. Maj. Gen. John A. Logan declared that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30. It is believed that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country.
The first large observance was held that year at Arlington National Cemetery, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

The ceremonies centered around the mourning-draped veranda of the Arlington mansion, once the home of Gen. Robert E. Lee. Various Washington officials, including Gen. and Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant, presided over the ceremonies. After speeches, children from the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphan Home and members of the GAR made their way through the cemetery, strewing flowers on both Union and Confederate graves, reciting prayers and singing hymns.

President Herbert Hoover conducted the first national Memorial Day ceremony in Arlington National Cemetery, on May 30, 1929. Presidents have laid wreaths at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers routinely every year on Memorial Day as well as Veterans Day.

In 2000, Congress passed the National Moment of Remembrance Act, asking people to stop and remember at 3:00 P.M.

A Thought, A Prayer

I don’t want to shame anyone for having a great weekend, that is not what this article is about, it is simply a reminder to say a prayer and give a thought to those that made your weekend possible, the fallen soldier.

That soldier gave all so that your family would be able to live in peace and spend quality time together.

Your weekend should be fun, full of laughter and joy, but there should also be a remembrance of the men and women who fought for your freedom and paid the ultimate price. These brave heroes wanted to be home at a BBQ just like you, but instead they gave their lives to ensure you could, it is a selfless act that at least deserves your recognition and a prayer for them and their families.
There is no time limit on heroism, from the volunteer rifleman cut down in a British volley during the Battle of Lexington to the Confederate Soldier who fell at Gettysburg, the draftee who was killed at Khe Sanh in Vietnam to the Navy SEALs killed in Operation Red Wings and beyond, these heroes gave everything for this nation, and deserve your respect.

What Did You Do for Fun and to Remember?

I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a few people I consider heroes, although they would be the first ones to tell you they are not, but they were privileged to serve with some that were heroes. Every year for the past 8 years I have spent these three days with Col (Ret). Danny McKnight doing something called mil-sim at Operation Lion Claws XV.

You may recognize the name, as Col. McKnight was famously portrayed by Tom Sizemore in the movie Black Hawk Down. During the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, one of the deadliest battles involving U.S. troops since the Vietnam War, Lt. Col. Danny McKnight sat in the passenger seat of the lead vehicle in a Humvee convoy while commanding 450 soldiers in the 3rd Ranger Battalion along the dirt roads of Mogadishu, Somalia.

The mission to capture the two top men who worked for Somali warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid was successful, but two American UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters were shot down. And a raid that was expected to take less than four hours turned into a 15-hour battle, leaving 18 Americans dead and 73 injured. Col. McKnight says that the book was 90% accurate and the movie about 75%, which for a movie is pretty good.

Because he chose to be in the lead vehicle, the Lt. Colonel was shot in the arm and the neck, and after spending some time on a mock field of battle, it is clear to me that he likes to lead from the front even when afforded the relative safety of commanding from behind the action. But once you get to know the man, you understand that being out front is where he shines.

For those that don’t know what mil-sim is, it is basically an airsoft game with military organization, command structures and support. It is a game of honor as you must call out when hit, there are no bright splashes of paint on your uniform like in paintball. The weapons are more realistic looking and rather than a small 200’ x 200’ field with cardboard obstacles, we “play” on a former Air Force Base housing area which is over a mile square.

Because of the size of the AO, we use former military vehicles to move troops around and attack areas based on the missions we are assigned. It all makes for great fun and great practice (because having live humans return fire is always a step above paper targets). The speeches given by Col. McKnight before and after the event are great, but the one on one conversations or him talking to a small group of us at camp or in the field are my favorite parts.

On Sunday we all go our separate ways and then remember those we have lost on Memorial Day. For some that involves remembering a relative or loved one that is no longer with us, for the Colonel, it means honoring the men who gave their lives under his command, something that not many of us can even imagine.

It was Col. McKnight’s last year playing with our group in Southern California as he has a promise to a grandchild he must keep and being with family is something no one can argue with on a beautiful weekend.
What did you do this past weekend? Either for fun or remembrance, I’d love to hear how you spent Memorial Weekend.

Once again, the legislators in California have come up with more ways to assault the Second Amendment and the freedoms of their citizens. This may be of no concern to you if you don’t live in the Golden State, but it should. Once these laws take hold in California, legislators in other states attempt to pass the same laws in their state. The now expired Federal Assault Weapons Ban was based on California’s Assault Weapons ban which continues to this day.

Never Enough

The California Senate Appropriations committee heard and passed TEN anti-gun bills without following any of the rules that are in place to allow for a more thorough review of each bill and their impact to the state and the people. This mean bills that contain unconstitutional parts that will be contested in courts and could cost the state millions of dollars may be passed into law.
This is not one anti-gun bill, but 10 new bills created to attack the rights of Californians who simply want to exercise a right protected by the Constitution of the United States. These were all sent to the Democrat controlled California Senate and all 10 passed. They now go to the Assembly and then to the Governor for ratification.

AB 156 and SB 1235

Legislation authored by anti-gun Kevin De Leon in 2009 regulated the sale of ammunition, but a judge later ruled that its definition of ammunition was too vague to enforce. So enter 2 new bills, Assembly Bill 156 by Assemblyman Kevin McCarty and De Leon’s Senate Bill 1235. Both bills seek to remedy the definition problem by defining ammunition as “one or more loaded cartridges consisting of a primer case, propellant and with one or more projectiles.” The bills also require that all ammunition sales are recorded and records kept by the CA Department of Justice. This means a full background check each time you wish to buy ammo, and you will be limited in those purchases as well. Criminals will just buy their ammo on the black market which will thrive in California if these laws pass. Both bills passed the Senate 24-15.

AB 857 and SB 1407

Senate Bill 1407, authored by Kevin De Leon, and Assembly Bill 857, authored by Assemblyman Jim Cooper, D-Elk Grove, both tackle the so called “Ghost Guns” for which De Leon became an internet sensation by writing a law on a subject he clearly knows nothing about. His televised introduction to his previous bill was so full of lies and stupidity that no one took him seriously. But he is serious and he is after your guns, not the guns of criminals, so beware. The bills say that the guns without registration numbers can’t be traced by law enforcement officials when they’re used to commit crimes.
Only they simply aren’t used in crimes except one instance and this law would not have changed that or stop anyone from doing so, but it does mean more money for the state and more people in their records should they ever wish to confiscate guns. This also goes against the criteria set forth by the ATF for home built firearms.
The measure would require anyone who manufactures a gun at home to apply to the state Department of Justice for a unique serial number and engrave or permanently affix the number to that firearm within 10 days. This will add cost to the home builder both through the application for and the engraving of the serial number. The Senate approved those two measures on a 24-14 vote.

AB 1135 and SB 880

Senate Bill 880, authored by Sens. Isadore Hall, and Steve Glazer, and Assembly Bill 1135, authored by Assemblymen Marc Levine, and Phil Ting, seek to modify the current assault weapons ban to effectively prohibit “bullet buttons.” Bullet buttons allow the magazine to be locked in place and require a tool (tip of bullet) to remove the magazine, this was created by the existing assault weapons ban.
The bills effectively change the definition of what they had previously agreed to as a locked or detachable magazine and thus bans just about every modern sporting rifle in existence. The Senate approved these measures on a 24-14 vote.

AB 1511

This bill from Assembly Members Santiago and Chiu makes it illegal to loan a firearm to personally known, law-abiding adults. So if you wanted to try your friends .500 Smith and Wesson Magnum at the range, you will now both be guilty of a misdemeanor. Approved by the Senate.

SB 894

Another wonderful bill that criminalizes the victims and not the criminals by Senator Jackson. Failure to report a stolen firearm would make you the criminal. So while undergoing a stressful situation where your home was burglarized, the failure to notice a firearm missing would make you the criminal. The Senate approved this measure.

SB 1006

Introduced by Senator Wolk with coauthors Senator De León and Senator Pan. This bill would enact the California Firearm Violence Research Act. The bill would declare the intent of the Legislature that the Regents of the University of California establish the California Firearm Violence Research Center to research firearm-related violence. Another money pit to create research that confirms their hypothesis that guns are bad. Approved by the Senate.

SB 1446

California’s assault weapons ban has been the law for almost to two decades now, and it banned the importation, manufacture and sale of large-capacity ammunition magazines. It did not, however, place any restrictions on possession of high-capacity magazines so if you had them, you could keep them.
Senate Bill 1446, authored by Sen. Hancock, would prohibit possession of ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. San Francisco, Sunnyvale and Los Angeles have already passed local ordinances that make possession of large-capacity magazines a misdemeanor. This means you would have to turn in or destroy your existing standard capacity magazines (30 rounds) and receive zero compensation from the State. This will cost the average shooter at least $200.00 and for some into the thousands of dollars. The Senate approved the measure on a 22-15 vote.

What is Next?

These bills still need to be approved by the State Assembly (a formality at this point) and then go to the Governor to be signed into law. Gov. Brown could veto some of these as he has before, but the chances are that enough will get past (the reason for the duplicate bills) to cause irreparable damage to the Second Amendment rights of Californians.
The courts will be full of these laws if they are enacted. With the exception of SB 1006, every single one of these bills in fringes on the Second Amendment. Taking these as far as the Supreme Court could take years however, and right now we have no way to know which direction the court will be leaning when they get there.
This of course isn’t the only assault on the Second Amendment in California, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsome’s Safety for All Act will be on the ballot in November and covers the very same issues. There has been some infighting between De Leon and Newsome over who gets to take our rights away first.
These laws or ones like them could be headed your way soon, the law abiding shooters in California are simply outnumbered by liberals who are too easily mislead on the realities of gun violence by their legislators. Keep up the good fight.
